Overview
I had the privilege of creating an animated short for Professor Eric Edson, Emeritus Director of Graduate Screenwriting at Cal State Northridge. The project aimed to vividly illustrate Eric's insights on the three-act structure, providing a dynamic alternative to his traditional slideshow presentations and whiteboard lectures. I meticulously edited audio from a pre-recorded Film Courage interview and began storyboarding Eric's Hero Goal Sequences. To bring the narrative to life, I designed and animated a gold crown symbolizing Eric's Hero, utilizing a continuous single-camera approach to capture the 23 critical steps the Hero must undertake, complemented by thoughtfully crafted sound design and music direction. The final animation received enthusiastic acclaim from Eric, his students, and the wider screenwriting community, marking a successful fusion of education and artistry.
